Man says WPD tazed him in eye

A Wichita man named James Walker Jr. says the Wichita Police tazed him in the eye, in an incident which reportedly stemmed from driving with a suspended license.

According to the Sedgwick County Sheriffs Department, Walker is being held on charges including fleeing and eluding a law enforcement officer, failure to signal, obstruction of justice, and driving while suspended.

We’ll update this post as more information becomes available.

  1. Hey, he shoulda been on a bicycle. Had no business being in a car, in the driver’s seat driving on a suspended license. Should have got out of car, stuck his hands out and said you caught me. I’m guilty. Instead he resisted. He’s lucky the officer used a taper and not bullets. It’s time we stopped treating law breakers like victims.

  2. How about this;

    don’t break the law.

    When it gets to the point of about to get tazed, you have long been warned that you are doing the wrong thing.

  3. I just believe that no matter if the accused is guilty or not, there’s protocols in place to keep officers restrained and respectful to the people they are sworn 2 protect.
