Last weekend, millions of women marched around the nation, and even around the world, in what some are calling the largest protest in American history. In Wichita, roughly 3,000 women took to the street to denounce sexism and assert their rights.
In October of last year, near the end of the election, a video emerged of Trump speaking on a hot microphone, discussing how women let him “grab em’ by the pussy” and how when he sees a beautiful woman, he “doesn’t even wait” and how he just kisses them.
In the weeks that followed, at least a dozen women came forward, alleging that Trump had in fact groped or kissed them, and that these were unwanted advances. And then one woman, seemingly in defense of Trump, stated that Trump had kissed her without permission, and that while she found it strange she was not offended.
Trump has denied these allegations, and criticized the physical appearance of one of the women who has accused him.
Not surprisingly, the Facebook feeds of Wichita’s news outlets are flooded with confused Kansans, including local politicians, who are questioning why women are marching against President Donald Trump.
Perhaps these quotes from Trump will shed further light on why many women take issue with the newly inaugurated president:
“Ariana Huffington is unattractive, both inside and out. I fully understand why her former husband left her for a man – he made a good decision.”
“If I were running ‘The View’, I’d fire Rosie O’Donnell. I mean, I’d look at her right in that fat, ugly face of hers, I’d say ‘Rosie, you’re fired.’”
“All of the women on The Apprentice flirted with me – consciously or unconsciously. That’s to be expected.”
“I’ve said if Ivanka weren’t my daughter, perhaps I’d be dating her.”
“You know, it really doesn’t matter what the media write as long as you’ve got a young, and beautiful, piece of ass.”
“Wonderful looking while on the ice but up close and personal, she could only be described as attractive if you like a woman with a bad complexion who is built like a linebacker”.
“I think that putting a wife to work is a very dangerous thing. Unfortunately, after they’re a star, the fun is over for me. It’s like a creation process. It’s almost like creating a building. It’s pretty sad.”
“I have a deal with her. She’s 17 and doing great ― Ivanka. She made me promise, swear to her that I would never date a girl younger than her. So as she grows older, the field is getting very limited.”
“Rosie O’Donnell is disgusting, both inside and out. If you take a look at her, she’s a slob. How does she even get on television?”
“Look at that face. Would anyone vote for that? Can you imagine that, the face of our next President? I mean, she’s a woman, and I’m not supposed to say bad things, but really, folks, come on. Are we serious?”
